Continuously explore ways for our forest management activities to benefit local communities near the Licensed Area, including the creation of employment and economic opportunities. Our CSR measures include:
- Donation of sawn timber to assist in the construction of schools;
- Donation of money to local places of worship; and
- Collaboration with local authorities (including Sabah Wildlife Department and Sabah Forestry Department) to curb illegal hunting within the Licensed Area.
We recognise the potential controversy in the nature of our industry, and intend to further build rapport with stakeholders and local communities.
- Establishment of a Community Forest Committee with representatives of the villages around the Licensed Area.
We will also have a stakeholder engagement team to maintain relationships with local communities and provide updates on our efforts to protect the environment.
